Virginia Harris Greeson went to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
Virginia was born in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia on August 29, 1938.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Earl W. and Louise Harris; brother, Col. Bobby J. Harris (Ruth); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Annie Greeson; and sister-in-law, Annie Maude Kenerly.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Greeson; two sons, Steven James Greeson (Karyn) and Jeffrey H. Greeson (Mary); three grandchildren, Andrew James Greeson, Elizabeth Mariah Greeson, and Carter Harris Greeson (Ashley); great-granddaughter, Ada Harper Greeson; sister-in-law, Rachel Ridley; and nieces and nephews.
Virginia went to school in Thomaston and, upon graduation, attended North Georgia College. This is where she met James. They were married May 15, 1960. James was in the Army more than twenty years, and they traveled on military assignments. Virginia taught school those years, twenty-two years at Chatsworth Elementary School. She was a faithful member of the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Mrs. Greeson was held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church with Pastors Graham Arp and Wade Owens officiating. Interment followed at Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
The family received friends at the church on Sunday after 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Chatsworth First United Methodist Church would be greatly appreciated.
