Ruth Ann Holcomb, age 84, of Chatsworth passed away on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, at her home.
Ruth Ann was a member of Chatsworth First United Methodist Church. She was also involved with several local organizations, such as the Pilot Club, Ruritan Club, Saturday Sacks, Murray County 4-H, Friends of the Vann House, and Murray County High School Alumni Association. Her hobbies included gardening, clogging, knitting, and spending time with her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Macky L. Holcomb; parents, Jim and Maxine Wilbanks; sisters, Virginia Peeples and Leo Leonard; and brothers, Joe and Buddy Wilbanks.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell and Deb Holcomb of Chatsworth; daughter, Cindy Holcomb of Chatsworth; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jane Wilbanks of Dalton; grandchild, Jaylen Christian; and great-grandchild, Will Leonard.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holcomb will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. George Ross and Rev. Graham Arp officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen from her Sunday school class are designated as honorary pallbearers: Tommy Kendrick, Bill Black, Bill Green, Gary Green, James Adams, Frank Ward, Bill Silvers, Bill Wood, and Ray Catoe.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the funeral begins at 2 p.m.
