Rosella Hampton Clay Simpson, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 1, 2021.
She was born December 24, 1930, in Chatsworth, Georgia, to the late Bruce and Azalee (Crider) Hampton. Rosella was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Her family was very important to her and she cherished the time that she was able to spend together. She was a wonderful caretaker and loved to host and feed everyone who was around. Rosella was a devout Christian and a longtime member of The Potter’s House Church of God. In her younger years, she enjoyed flowers and tending to her vegetable garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Clay and Robert Simpson; sisters, Genny Bryant and Anna Lou Stiers; brothers, Paul, Bruce and Jack Hampton. Rosella is survived by her children, Charlie (Roslyn) Clay, Stan (Candy) Clay, and Teresa (Gary) Davis; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brother, George W. (Barbara) Hampton, of Chatsworth, Georgia; sister-in-law, Geraldine Hampton, of Dalton, Georgia; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation was 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2021, at The Potter’s House Church of God, 3220 Lowell Dr., Columbus, OH 43204 where Funeral Service followed at 12:00 p.m. Interment Concord Cemetery.
