Mr. Richard Alvin King passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born, the youngest of 8, to the late Virgil and Imogene Carmley King on August 15th, 1948 in Vonore, Tennessee.
Richard spent many years traveling the country in his semi-truck, often stopping to take photographs of the scenery that God created before him. He was particularly fond of the beauty of “out West”. He traveled with his best companion, co-pilot, and dog, Penny.
He was an avid gardener, bee keeper and a Western movie connoisseur. Richard was a brother of the Masonic Lodge, becoming a member in 1971.
He was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Richard Edward King. Brothers: Columbus King, Norman King and Leon King. Sister: Rosie King Schubert
He is survived by his daughters: Jennifer King Brooks (Wayne) and Whitney Paige.
Sisters: Mae King Burris, Marie King Thomas of Vonore, Tennessee Vina King Cooke of Concord, North Carolina and special sisters of the heart, Mary King and Darlene Lawson.
Grandchildren: Whitney Brooks Manning (Zach) and Amber King Lewallen (Brad) and Jamie King.Great-Grandchild: Waylon Manning. Several beloved nieces and nephews
Family will receive friends from 2-4:00, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Peeples Funeral Home in Chatsworth, Georgia.
A memorial service and scattering of ashes will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ball Play, Tennessee at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Richard's favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Richard Alvin King.
