Murray to shave classroom time for older students

Murray County students in K-6 will continue classroom instruction until Dec. 17, while middle and high school students will switch to distance learning beginning Thursday.

Fall semester ends Jan. 23. Students are scheduled to start back to class on Jan 5.

School Superintendent Steve Loughridge told The Times on Monday the current plan called for all students to return to the classrooms in January.

“We feel like we can get back in the classroom, but who knows?” said Loughridge. “It will depend on the situation with the COVID.”
