Mrs. Peggy Jones Ray, age 80, of Spring Place, passed away peacefully in her sleep late Saturday evening, May 1, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born on August 1, 1940.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jack Ray; son, Michael Ray; parents, C.L. and Ella Tatum Jones; and brother, James Arnold Jones.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Deborah Hilley and Jackie (Terry) Edwards, of Chatsworth; siblings Ronald D. (Betty) Jones, of Dalton; Alice (Mark) Chute and Sharon Jones Miller, of Chatsworth; and sister-in-law, Ruth Jones, of Dalton. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a retired school teacher with a lifelong love of reading and learning. In particular, she enjoyed reading and studying in her Bible daily. Peggy attended Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with her brother Arnold and sister Sharon. Peggy loved the Lord Jesus. Peggy took pride in her yard and loved having various blooming plants throughout the year. She enjoyed watching the many species of birds around her backyard feeder.
At Peggy’s request, there will be no funeral services.
