Mrs. Marilou Stanley, age 94, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Chatsworth Health Care after a very short stay for rehab.
Marilou has lived in Murray County for over 75 years. Her husband Paul Stanley was one of the town’s first TV repairmen. Marilou worked in nearly every dollar store that ever came to town, starting with Lays and Dixie Dime. She enjoyed working with the public and getting to see old and new faces.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stanley; brother, Ralph England; sister, Lois Smith; mother and father, Dewey and Bernice England (Masters).
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Anna Stanley, of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Dewight Hood, of Douglasville, Paulette and Jimmy Gallman, Peggy Stanley, of Kennesaw; sister and brother-in-law, Martha Sue and David Fincher; grandchildren, Jimmy Gallman, Bryan Hood, Tish Hart, Paul Stanley and Denise Cross; many great- and great-great- grandchildren; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Marilou Stanley will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Chatsworth Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
