Mrs. June Webb Payne, 68, of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at her residence.
June was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was always a hard working lady, and proved so! One example of this is that she raised her two daughters alone. She fought cancer and won her ultimate battle! June loved her family, gardening, birds, and her flower beds. Many years, her family vacations were spent at her favorite area of Florida, Saint George Island. We believe mother stated it best when she said to several of us in the last few weeks of life, “I will hold you in my heart until I hold you in Heaven
June was preceded in death by her dad, James “Jason” Webb.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Payne, of Chatsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne Hendrix, of Chatsworth, Austin and Laura Payne, of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, LaVonda and George Gentry, of Graysville, GA, Sandra and David Ghorley, of Resaca, Alyssa Payne and Michael, of Chatsworth, Alley Payne and Brad, of Chatsworth; mother, Willa Mae McCurley, of Canton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jerry and Geneva Payne, of Chatsworth; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma and Roger Harrison, of Seymour, TN, Venda and Johnny Morrow, of Chatsworth, Marilyn and Mike Dinkens, of Canton, Carolyn Anderson and Chris, of Canton, Joyce Phyfe, of Canton; grandchildren, Danielle, Rebecca, Patrick, Jacob, Anthony, Marshall “Bud,” Jamie, William, Bayleigh, Ryley, Kinley, Autumn, Parker, Gracelynn, Brayley; great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kanvas; special friends, Vernon and Faye Youell; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. June Webb Payne were held Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 11 a.m. from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dalton with Bishop Bob Blackburn, Bro. Bud Thomason, and Bro. David White officiating. Interment followed in Beaty’s Chapel Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains, TN.
The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing and masks were encouraged. No food or beverages were allowed in the funeral home.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth was in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. June Webb Payne.
