Mr. William Clyde “Billy” Ledford, also known as “Led,” passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Hamilton Medical Center.
Billy was a lifelong resident of Murray County, a 1965 graduate of Murray County High School and a United States Army Veteran. Billy spent his career of over 45 years in Chatsworth, working in the auto parts industry. He was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he was also a deacon for over 25 years.
Mr. Ledford was preceded in death by his parents, William Barnett Ledford and Sarah Dimple Bramblett Ledford; and his wife of 49 years, Mary Anna “Louise” Ledford.
Survivors include his children, daughter, Pam Benson, son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie Ledford, and daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tim Dailey, all of Chatsworth; brother, Quentin Bramblett of Dalton; grandchildren, Shawn Benson, Garrett Benson, Jacob Ledford, Savannah Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Tucker Dailey, and Chelsea Young, all of Chatsworth; great-grandchild, Elaina Lawson; special friends, Bobby and Hazel Parks, and Pat Gallman; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service was held Monday, April 20, 2020, at 5 p.m. from the New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery with Rev. Ed Kilgore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church c/o Pat Timms at 718 Fox Bridge Road Dalton, GA 30721 or to the Murray County disaster relief fund to benefit the victims of the recent tornadoes.
