Mr. William Clyde Barnes


Mr. William Clyde “Bill” Barnes, 61, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, at his residence. 

Mr. Barnes was a veteran of the United States Army, graduating from the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey, Calif. He was a proud member of the 25 Infantry Division, 125th Military Intelligence Battalion, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, with two deployments to Camp Humphreys, South Korea. He was a graduate of Dalton State College, earning a bachelor’s degree in business management.

He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” Barnes; grandparents, William and Ellen Fouts Barnes; grandparents, Amy and Roy Etheridge; grandfather, Clyde Huffman.

Survivors include his mother, Rosell Barnes, of Chatsworth; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy and Otis Bolton, of Copperas Cove, Texas, Carla Barnes Hix, of Chatsworth, Alecia Barnes, of Chatsworth; extended family also survives.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. William Clyde “Bill” Barnes will be held Friday, March 19, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in Eton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing and masks are encouraged. No food or drinks are allowed inside the funeral home.

Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. William Clyde Barnes.
