Mr. Melvin “Kenneth” Looney, age 81, of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020, in Roswell.
Ken was a Christian (Southern Baptist) and a member at Holly Creek Baptist Church. He was also a former deacon and usher at the First Baptist Church of Orlando.
He was a sports enthusiast, enjoying golf, tennis, basketball, and baseball. Ken was employed as a salesman with Galaxy Carpet Mill and retired from Carpenter Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Nora Looney, and sisters, Jean Leverette, Delinda Bierman, and Anita Ivester.
Survivors include his loving wife, Doris Eloise Looney of Calhoun; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Looney of Lawrenceville; and grandchildren, Robert Looney and Rachel Looney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Cochran and Rev. Walter Hare officiating. Inurnment will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
