Mr. J W (Red) Edwards, 91, of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center.
Red was a World War II Army veteran; a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth for over 50 years; a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple and past president of the Echota Vann Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, May Muse Edwards and Charlie Edwards; sisters, Frances Pettini and Jacquline Manis; brother, Clyde Edwards; nephew, Tommy Manis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Elaine Edwards; daughter, Cynthia Edwards; granddaughter, Macie Miller; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Claude Cantrell; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. J W (Red) Edwards were held Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. George Ross officiating. Interment followed at Eton Cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Flowers were omitted.
