Mr. Melvin Richard Adams, age 92 of Chatsworth, passed away April 3, 2023 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Melvin was a member of Spring Place Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Lucille Adams; brothers, Durell Adams and Harold Dean Adams; sisters, Wynell Gustin and Dora Mae Tolbert.
Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Harriett Payne Adams of Chatsworth; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Lynn Adams of Comer, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim Hines of Athens, GA; brother, Jerry Adams of Nicholson, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Mike Black of Nicholson, GA; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Larue Adams; extended family also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Melvin Richard Adams will be held Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Andrew Bowen, Rev. Mark Bowen, and Rev. Jon Kent officiating. Interment will follow at Dewberry Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation at P.O. Box5014 Hagerstown MD 21741 or to the American Heart Association at P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284.
