Mr. Marion “Bud” Rogers, age 90 of Chatsworth, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Marion served as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the United States Army for 28 years. He served two tours in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Senior Army Aviator Badge, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helga Rogers; parents, Robert and Martha Rogers; brothers, Joel Rogers and Robert Rogers; sisters, Ethel Smith, Artie Belle Hunt, and Etta Lee Smith; grandson, Jared Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Martha F. Beavers Rogers; children, Edwin (Ann), Mark (Eleen), Dirk (Betsy), David (Pam), Jackie, Sherry (Johnny), Wanda, and Cathy (Jason); 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Kathy Rogers; sister, Marie Rogers Smith.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Marion “Bud” Rogers was held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas at a later date.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
