Some lucky person will win $10,000 on Nov. 7 when the Chatsworth Lions Club concludes its annual fundraising drawing.
It is the Lions’ only fundraiser annually and dates back to 1975 when a pickup truck was the grand prize, according to club chaplain Mickey McNeill.
The 88-year-old local club chapter uses the proceeds to fund charitable giving, with an emphasis on programs which help people with sight preservation and conservation.
Tickets for the drawing cost $100 and are available from all Lions Club members.
There will be multiples cash prizes in amounts of $250 (10 prizes), $50 (10) and $25 (10). A TV set will also be awarded.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the club’s annual steak dinner has been canceled. The drawing, instead, will take place at 6 p.m. from Peeples Funeral Home on Nov. 7. It will be livecast on Facebook.
