Jerry Ronald Stafford


Jerry Ronald Stafford, 76 of Lula passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. Jerry was born on January 10th, 1945 in Dalton, Georgia to the late Virginia Stafford of Chatsworth, Georgia and Glenn Stafford of Crandall, Georgia.
Jerry owned Holcomb Bridge Chevron in Roswell, Georgia for 38 years. As a longtime resident of Cobb County, he moved to Lula upon his retirement. Most recently, he was employed by the Banks County Recreation Department. Jerry served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Andrew Jackson submarine during the Vietnam War as a Sonar Technician. He enjoyed being his grandchildren’s biggest fan as he attended their many football, soccer, and racing events.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brother Benny Stafford.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Jones Stafford, his son and daughter-in-law; Shaun and Jennifer Stafford of Lula, daughter; Alana Stafford Davis of Austell, grandchildren; Brody Stafford, Brooks Stafford, Kai Davis, Lexie Mae Davis, his brother and sister-in-law; Hilton and Debbie Stafford of Gainesville, a host of nieces and nephews, and special caregivers; Tommy and Charlotte Long. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and aides from Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
The family will have a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Sept. 26. The family will accept friends and loved ones for visitation from 1 pm-2pm and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, 355 Dawsonville Highway, SW, Gainesville, Georgia 30501 and online for those wishing to attend from home.
