Indians get in work in front of their fans

The Murray County Indians Green and White game was interrupted for about 30 minutes by a lightning storm on Friday, but that didn’t keep Coach Chad Brewer from liking what he saw.

“One of the main things is nobody got hurt,” said Brewer. “I was happy with the effort our kids gave. We had a lot of kids play hard.”

The Indians’ number one offense competed against the number one defense for two quarters, then gave way to the JV and ninth grade squads.

Players from Gladden Middle School ran plays at halftime.

Brewer said he was very pleased with the play of his four quarterbacks, including senior Kaleb Jones, who connected with receiver Brannon Nuckolls for a TD in the first quarter.

Nuckolls finished with six catches.

Sophomore linebacker Aaron Flood stood out on defense, piling up 14 tackles.

“I saw a lot of good things,” Brewer said.
