Murray County High School football coach Chad Brewer is under quarantine after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
Preseason football workouts for the Indians have been suspended until July 21.
Brewer told The Times he began suffering from body aches on Friday. He went to a clinic near his home in Cleveland, Tenn., for testing on Saturday morning.
“I thought it might be the flu,” Brewer said. “They tested me for both the flu and COVID and the COVID test came back positive.”
Brewer said he, his wife and daughter have been in quarantine.
“Right now, I’m feeling great,” he said. “The only symptom I have now is some loss of taste.”
“I’m excited about getting back to football next week,” he said. “We’ve had some really good workouts. It’s good that we have a veteran team; that’s helping us handle all this.”
