Mrs. Icey Ellamae Davenport Dill, age 93 of Chatsworth, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home.
Ms. Icey was a precious mother, doting grandmother, loyal friend and a mighty prayer warrior, as she loved serving her Lord. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lee Dill; granddaughter, Jana Lynn Bates; brothers and sisters, Jack Davenport (Dee), Marilyn Davenport, Wilma Lyles (Shorty), Virgil Davenport, Buddy Davenport (Emmarie), Linda Myers (James), and Lois Ensley (Charles); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Phillips (Greenie), Bentley Dill (Mary), Colvard Dill, Cecile McCamy (Troy), and Tom Dill.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Jean and Jerry Bates of Chatsworth and Jan and Mickey Leonard of Chatsworth; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hubert and Linda Davenport of Chatsworth and Danny and Debbie Davenport of Chatsworth; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Ray Smith of Chatsworth and Brenda Jones of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Nathan Leonard (Mande), Jennifer Headrick (Russell), and Judith Lumpkin (Allen); great-grandchildren, Luke Headrick, Ella Headrick, Will Leonard, Anna Logan, Jackson Lumpkin, and Graham Lumpkin.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Icey Ellamae Davenport Dill will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. George Ross and Rev. Mark Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
