Hazel Tankersley Smith, age 87, of Chatsworth, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May, 21,2023 at her residence.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, James Richard Tankersley, and James Smith; parents, Grady and Ida Coleman; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Tankersley; sons-in-law, Bill Hagin and Theo Johnson; several brothers and sisters.
Survived by her children and spouses, Charles and Joyce Tankersley, Annette Hagin, James and Frances Tankersley, Deborah Johnson, Eddie and Robbin Tankersley; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Gus Smith, sister-in-law Martha Williams, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ted and Wilma Tankersley; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Hazel Tankersley Smith will be at 1 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Lakeview Baptist Church, with Pastor Donnie Flood and Tim Cheetham officiating. Interment will be in Fairy Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 25, 2023, from 5 pm to 8 pm
