Curtis Dale Baggett, better known as Mater, age 72 of Chatsworth departed this life on July 2, 2022, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Dale was an avid car guy and gardener. If he was not polishing on an antique car, he could be found working in the yard or mowing the grass. His greatest joy in life was watching his granddaughters Alivia play softball and Lily play basketball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Annie Lou Baggett; brothers, G.W. Paul, Emmett, Buddy, and Johnny Baggett; sisters, Margaret Baggett, Frances Parrott, and Mozelle Little.
He is survived by his wife Julia Baggett; daughter, Shay Baggett Rymer; granddaughters, Alivia and Lily Rymer; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley and Novis Davis, Katheryn Springfield, and Hazel Ellis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Angie Blair, Karen and Dennis Ball, Jerry Arthur and Carol Mooney. Many other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Tussy Lough and Bill Black, officiating. Interment will be in the Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 5, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
