Mr. Jimmie Jackson, age 88, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at his residence.
Mr. Jackson was a member of Liberty Tabernacle in Chatsworth, GA. He was also an evangelist and gospel singer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Jackson; mother, Louise Russell Jackson; brothers, Houston, Lonnie, Dan, Earl, and Dave Jackson; sisters, Troyce Dean Henry, Hilda McDowell, Mildred Powell; daughter, Alice Chambers; great-granddaughter, Coley Louise Davis.
Survivors include wife, Billie Marie Jackson of Chatsworth, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lagary & Sharon Jackson of Calhoun, GA, Greg Jackson of Sparta, TN, Hank & Carol Jackson of Sparta, TN, and Robert Murphy, Jr. of Chatsworth, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim & Bill Woodson of Watertown, TN, Janet Corbin of Chatsworth, GA, Robin & Richard Stiles of Lafayette, GA; grandchildren, Caleb Jackson, Marlissa McGill, Israel Woodson, Daniel Woodson, Nathan Murphy, William Murphy, Isaac Stiles, Nichole Davis, Ashley Murphy, Talina Murphy, Mykala Love, Robert Murphy III, Cindy Jarvis, Tommy Grant, Donnie Grant, and Shane Richardson; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jackson were held Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 11 a.m. from the Liberty Tabernacle Church with Rev. Bobby Rogers, Nathan Murphy and Daniel Woodson officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Tabernacle Church Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post 167 of Chatsworth, GA.
The family received friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Peeples Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Peeples Funeral Home to help with the final expenses.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth was in charge of the arrangements.
