Two Chatsworth men were charged by the Chatsworth Police Department with several counts of theft by shoplifting last Thursday evening. Law enforcement recovered four cases of stolen beer from the suspect vehicle, a silver 2000 Nissan Maxima, according to a CPD case report.
Michael James Rogers, 28, and Jacob C Monroe, 22, both of the Murray Lodge at 412 Treadwell Rd., were arrested and charged in Thursday night’s incident.
Rogers was charged twice – because according to the case report he had arrived earlier in the evening allegedly taking a case of Coors Light and a case of Bud Light Platinum, then came back later in a separate vehicle with Monroe for a second round of shoplifting, where the duo allegedly stole four more cases. In all, a 30 pack of coors Light, 12 pack of Coronas, 30 pack of Budweiser, 15 pack of Bud Light, a 30 pack of Coors Light, and a pack of Bud Light Platinum were listed as stolen, according to the report. The 30 pack of Coors and the Bud Light Platinum allegedly stolen in the earlier incident by Rogers were not recovered by police, according to the case report.
Rogers was arrested at the scene and Monroe was arrested later at his Murray Lodge Apartment at 412 Treadwell Rd, according to the case report.
