WES Archery Team wins 7th State Championship Featured

On March 3, 2017, Woodlawn Elementary won their 7th state championship. The WES team competed in Perry, GA against 15 elementary schools across the state of GA.  The archery team posted a score of 3080 bringing them a victory.  Eli Howard (5th grade)  scored a 280 out of possible 300 bringing him a 2nd place trophy in the elementary boys division.  He was 2nd out of 192 shooters. This marks the 7th state championship for Woodlawn Elementary.  This year the team is coached by Will Linginfelter, Melanie Linginfelter, Sarah Smith, Amy Davenport, and Nick Ross. The team thanks the businesses and families that have sponsored the team this year and in years past.  The team will compete May 11-13 at the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY.  Team members:  Gavin Pittman, Eli Howard, Kylee Ross, Conner Ponders, Cameron Glass, Caden Painter, Kylee Johnson, Journey Shropshire, Brazlee Ridley, Sadie Maness, Faith Pack, Braxton Burke, Julianna Taylor, Luke Smith, Meredith Phillips, Ava Ogle, Jacie Baine, Max Osgatharp, Alyson Williams, Blake Griffin, Rachel Linginfelter, Macy House, Brady Osgatharp, Nicole Martin and Cadence Bennett.
